Columbia Hills, Eastern Washington
A rare catch indeed, virga timed with a break in the horizon makes for some of the most dramatic sky scenery, second to lenticular clouds in my opinion. This was the first real noteworthy sunset over the eastern Columbia River Gorge for the season. Mt. Hood can be seen on the far left part of the image. This was a last minute composition as I had another one set up for a good hour as I watched the virga and clouds pass right over me. I still don't think it turned out too bad.
My love for you hangs like virga as you light me up.....
